Become a Spellcaster

The spellbook provides a new way for you Sims to become Spellcasters. Curious Sims can investigate the tome and accept it’s magic if they choose.

Study Magical Disciplines

Via the interaction Study Magical Disciplines you can choose which magical craft to study:

Study Untamed Magic: Increase Spellcaster experience and learn new untamed spells.
Study Practical Magic: Increase Spellcaster experience and learn new practical spells.
Study Mischief Magic: Increase Spellcaster experience and learn new mischief spells.
Study Alchemy: Increase Spellcaster experience and learn new potion recipies.

The base rate for gaining Spellcaster experience through these interactions is 0.25. You can increase the amount of experience you gain through unlocking the Knowledge is Power (+0.25) and Insightful Eye (+0.5) perks.

Study Gemology: Increase your Gemology skill.
Study Séance Theory: Increase Medium skill.

The base rate for gaining skills through these interactions is StandardPeriodic. You can increase the amount of skill you gain through unlocking the Insightful Eye (+SmallPeriodic) perk.

If you unlock the Knowledge is Power perk, you will additionally gain a small amount of Spellcaster experience (0.1) when studying Gemology or Séance Theory.
